Respecting Legacy: The ŠKODA JS Brand Transformation

We were approached by ŠKODA JS, a prominent name in nuclear engineering, to develop their new website. However, it quickly became apparent that the company lacked clarity in its market positioning and core message. As a traditional brand with over 60 years of history and a pioneer in European nuclear engineering, ŠKODA JS initially believed its legacy alone sufficed for brand recognition.

Strategy

The project revealed a deeper need: to redefine the brand's positioning and values. We conducted comprehensive workshops with top management, mid-level leaders, engineers, and production staff. This diagnostic phase was critical in defining the company's core values and the new brand message: "Power of Nuclear Engineering."

Once the brand was redefined and a new visual identity system was developed, we proceeded with building the website. This was complemented by an extensive internal branding initiative, focusing on mid-level managers to ensure they could effectively communicate the new brand message to the company's 1,200 employees.

Creatives

Creatively, we respected the century-old Škoda logo, integrating it into a refreshed visual system inspired by the renowned Czech Cubist painter František Kupka. This updated visual language was applied not only to the website and print materials but also to interior spaces like the new entrance hall and meeting rooms.

Since its introduction in 2019, ŠKODA JS has successfully embraced this new visual system and brand elements, ensuring consistency and a strong brand presence.
